The technology used in air purifiers

air purifiersAre you looking for a system which will help you to clean the air in and around you? Yes! Do not be surprised. There are various technologies available nowadays for aire lavado or air washing. Want to know more about them? Read through this article and all your queries will be solved.

Well! First of all, let us see what an air purifier is and how it works. An air purifier is basically an apparatus which helps to remove all types of contaminants from the air inside a closed room. These devices are very helpful to people who suffer from allergy and asthma. It also helps in removing the tobacco smoke. Sometimes, air purifiers are also used in industries, in order to remove carbon dioxide from the air just before processing. Techniques such as pressure swing adsorbers are mostly used in these devices.

Pollen, dust, mould spores, pet dander, and also dust mite faeces, might act as allergens which trigger allergies to responsive people. Some volatile organic compounds and smoke particles pose a risk to health. Too much exposure to components like volatile organic compounds may increase the possibility of encountering symptoms of sick building syndrome. Various air purifiers are being manufactured these days to capture a huge number of viruses, bacteria, and other microorganisms.

Various kinds of new technology are available nowadays which have made this possible. Here are a few technologies which have been used in air purifiers:

Thermodynamic sterilization (TSS)

This technology basically makes use of heat sterilization with the help of a ceramic core containing microcapillaries. This is heated to a temperature of about 200 °C (392 °F). It has been claimed that around 99.9% of microbiological particles such as viruses, bacteria, mold and fungus spores are incinerated. Here, the air is allowed to pass through the ceramic core through air convection and is later cooled with the help of heat transfer plates and then released.

Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI)

This method is used to sterilize the air which passes UV lamps. These UVGI air purification systems are freestanding units having shielded UV lamps. They make use of a fan to force the air to pass through the UV light. The most important part of this air purification system is the placement of UV lamps and also a superior quality filtration system.

These filter based purification systems are traps to all the airborne particles. Here, air is forced through the filter and all the particles are captured physically by the filter. This is the most ancient type of purification system.

These are just a glimpse of the technologies used in the air purification system. Various new techniques have been introduced such as activated carbon method, photocatalytic oxidation method, ozone generators, immobilized cell technology, titanium dioxide technology and so on. All of these various technologies have made it easier for us to breathe pure air amongst all the air pollution. So go and get an air purifier today if you are finding difficulty in breathing.
